Secret Agent Society (SAS)
SAS is recognised as one of the most successful programs of its type globally
Strong Evidence-Base
The evidence-based, multimedia program is delivered to children aged 8 to 12 with identified social and emotional goals, including
High-functioning autism spectrum disorder
Anxiety disorders
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Anger management difficulties
Other general challenges with friendships, teamwork, conversations or staying calm
Four Skill Areas in One
Secret Agent Society (SAS) Small Group Program is an evidence-based breakthrough approach for clinical and school services to teach children:
Emotion Recognition (in other people and self);
Emotion Regulation (particularly anxiety and anger);
Diverse Social Skills (including for both friendship and team work!); and
Problem Solving (as an individual and in a group).
What is involved?
The nine-week course uses an animated computer game, “Helpful Thought Missile” action game, “Challenger” board game and “Secret Message Transmission Device” game, designed to assist children in acquiring new social and emotional skills within an enjoyable and captivating setting.
Parents and schools play an essential role in the group program, receiving resources and support to assist young 'secret agents' in acquiring and applying new skills both at home and in the school environment.
A randomized controlled trial conducted by a university revealed that 76% of children engaged in SAS demonstrated a transition from clinically significant delays in social and emotional functioning to exhibiting skills within the typical range of development.
