Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists play a vital role in assisting children with various aspects of their daily lives. From fostering play skills to promoting fine and gross motor development, visual-motor coordination, self-care tasks, and emotional wellbeing, we ensure children can actively participate in the activities that matter to them.

During early preschool and primary school years, many children face challenges related to sensory processing, which can significantly impact their attention and concentration in the classroom. Additionally, difficulties with fine motor skills can hinder important tasks like drawing, writing, and acquiring hand skills essential for early learning. Some children may also experience limitations in gross motor development, affecting their ability to fully engage in playground activities and impacting coordination, motor planning, strength, endurance, and self-care abilities such as using the toilet, dressing, grooming, and getting organised.

Through engaging in play-based activities, our occupational therapists create a supportive and enjoyable environment that focuses on building the essential skills needed for childhood development. By addressing sensory processing, motor skills, and emotional regulation abilities, we enhance children's independence, self-esteem, and sense of accomplishment in their homes, schools, and community settings. Our goal is to provide children with the tools they need to thrive, fostering their growth, confidence, and success in all areas of life. With occupational therapy, children are empowered to embrace new challenges, overcome obstacles, and flourish into their best selves.
